My MKV WIP

Not a huge amount of progress but it's getting there.

I hope to have the 1st coat of paint done this weekend. I'll post more photos once done.

Re: My MKV WIP

Thanks guys. I've got the ride-height set, & the chassis masked off for paint tomorrow morning so I hope to have it,(the chassis) done & pieced together by the end of the day. And, by the end of the weekend the 1st couple coats of paint laid down..I'll post a few more photos tonight as well.

The wheels are from the Tamiya Porsche GT2 kit. I trimed them down to fit the smaller Pegasus tires...

Re: My MKV WIP

I'm actually going to paint it Euro 1 gray. (Though now I'm thinking I might paint it silver...) I'll post some updated photos tonight of the Chassis & the test spray of the Euro Gray...

Re: My MKV WIP

Here's a few updated shots. I didn't get to paint the body yet but did finish the chassis for the most part.
Used these photos from vwvortex as reference.

The Fujimi directions call for flat black on almost all of the chassis and as you can see there is quite a bit of aluminum and body color in the fender wells.

I used baremetal foil for the heatshields and will re-paint the engine pieces aluminum like the front crossmember. I think I'll re-paint the exhaust a darker shade of aluminum as it gets lost in the foil..
I also finish the brakes, and did a black "wash" of the wheels so the bolt holes would be more realistic.

And heres a shot of the Euro 1 gray test spray
