1989 Buick horn relay location

I read the post that said the horn relay was in the Maxi-fuse / relay panel on the firewall. Found the panel, found the row of relays, but the diagram is not on the back of the cover panel.
Can anyone tell me which relay (there are six of them, and two empty slots) is the horn, or have a diagram?
The cops pounded on my door the other day at 4:00 in the morning because the horns were blowing continuously. Disconnected the horns - suspect the relay - if I can find out which one it is!

Thanks a lot.

Re: 1989 Buick horn relay location

I had an 89 Bonneville & IIRC they were the relays on the driver's side fender well.

Edit - The other possibility is under the dash on passenger side.

IIRC, the horn relay on this particular model Buick LeSabre, is located on the passenger side, under dash, above kick panel, mounted in relay block.

Re: 1989 Buick horn relay location

Thanks for the replies, but I think the horn relay is one of the six that are located in the Maxi-fuse / relay rack that's on the top, middle of the firewall under an access panel (there are 8 relay locations, two are empty.)

I'm trying to find out which one it is, as the sticker on the access panel for the location/description is missing. They are hard to take out without breaking the locking tab, so I want to make sure I know which one it is before I yank one out.

Thanks

Re: 1989 Buick horn relay location

I just checked a Chilton's manual & it shows it in the relay center under the dash on passenger side. Should be on the right side 2nd position from the top. Top position may not have a relay in it.

In case we are all wrong, here is the layout of the early 90's under hood relay panel. If you have auto climate control (ACC) forget about the blower speed relays, they won't be there!

Re: 1989 Buick horn relay location

HotZ28 -
U da' man!
Diagram was right on. I have ACC, so that's the two empty slots.
Getting the puppy out was another adventure, but I did, and it's apparent that the switch in the steering wheel is shorted, as the relay is on all the time (I have the connectors off of the horns.) But, had to rule out the relay before tearing into the steering wheel (air bag and all.)

Thanks to all who replied. There was mention in the owner's manual of a panel on the passenger side under the dash, but all it said was the pass key fuse was there. Hope to never go there, looks like a few screws that would never go back in.

Thanks again!
