1995 Mirage question.....

I have a 1995 mirage. It has a gas smell in the exhaust and also in the oil if you take the dipstick out and smell in the oil. It has been sitting around for a while and before I had brought it to 3 different mechanics. first said it just needs to be driven more. 2nd said the fuel regulator is probably stuck. 3rd said fuel injectors are bad. can anyone help me?

I'd start by adding a can of injector cleaner to a full tank. How does it idle?
How old are the plugs, wires, cap and rotor?

It idles OK ..... I think. Don't think plugs,wires or any of that stuff has ever been changed. would that have some thing to do w/ gas smell in oil?

Yes, it could, due to incomplete combustion. Does it accelerate smoothly if you floor it?
When did you last change the oil in terms of time and mileage?

running rich or lean? think about the air/fuel ratio
