Need new battery tray, a good one!

My battery tray is so rusted I'm scrapping it. The one's I've found at the junkyard or not much better than mine. Anybody know a good aftermarket tray that will bolt to the radiator support like the stock one? Or maybe I can still get a good stock one somewhere?

this is a problem i just had to resolve with my sons 94 s10 pick up .... i got some heavy guage galvanized sheet metal and with some tin snips made a soild battery case then bought a battery hold down kit two rods and a piece of metal that sets on top of battery....much more solid than what is now available ....the battery does not move even with appling a good amount of force on it...

I don't know if they still sell these , but I used to see battery trays sold in parts stores that were coated in a rubber substance,( similar to the stuff you can dip your tools in like plier handles.) The coating was there to prevent battery acid from eating away at the metal tray. It worked, and i don't think they cost that much more than a standard metal tray.

Well I found out I can still buy a OEM tray. Got to decide if it's worth $40 though.

If you do decide to buy the OEM version, or any aftermarket one for that matter, it might be a good idea to spray some rubberized undercoating on it to keep the acid from eating away at the metal.
