02 Grand Vitara Starting Issues

I've a 2002 grand vitara with the 2.5L 4x4 engine. the fuel pump wasn't making any noise so I replaCED IT AND STILL NO WHIRRING noise, I double checked the wiring and all good I would hate to think I bought a new pump that has turned out to be defective, tommorow I will ask for another fuel pump and try again but in the mean time if anyone knows if i missed anything please let me know. It gets spark, turns over fine, and the fuses look ok. please help if you can

Re: 02 Grand Vitara Starting Issues

Well, yes and no, it made the fuel pump work but it still didn't start it till I unplugged both the neg. and pos from the battery for 30 min. probably would've worked after 5 min. but it started without much of a problem. Thank you.

P.S. can you get me a pulley that adjusts the p/s, a/c belt please?
