No shift until car warms up .. 94 deville

hello all, I have a 94 devill that wont shif when its cold ... I put it into any gear and acts like its in neutral.

After the car warms up ... usually a minute or two, it operates perfectly fine. No slippage while driving. If I let it sit long enough during the day, when I come out after work it does the same thing.

Any ideas on a remedy?

Thank you

Sounds like the torque converter is draining back overnight. My Jeep was doing this for a long time and then one day the the front seal blew out. I replaced the front pump seal and bushing and it hasn't done it since. However I'm not sure it this applies to your 4T60e trans because thats a lot different. I'll do a little research and see if I can come up with something.

This is not uncommon with this trans. First, check the fluid level. If that's OK, drop the pan, change the filter and fluid. Do not "flush" the trans w/o changing the filter. That will likely do it. If it doesn't you're only out about $30and you can pursue more complicated and costly scenarios.
