rear main seal

83 S-10 2.8 L V6 - REAR MAIN SEAL IS IT THE 5mm TWO PEICE OR THE 5mm ONE PEICE, HELP.

I dunno. But I was told long ago by friend mechanic at GM garage that these engines need half inch higher oil level to keep enough to rear main seal.

Maybe if you leaking bad, a good temp fix would be a good rubber seal revitalizer that expands the rubber, like "Wynns" rubber seal revitalizer.

I saw it expand old rubber , it can work.

Stop at a parts store and look at one. A two piece you pull the oil pan to put in, a one piece you pull the transmission. A lot easier if two wheel drive.
