Ferrari 512 TR

This will be my new build:

It's the Ferrari 512 TR from Fujimi.

It's just simple detailed and not many parts.

I only will use some PE seatbelts.

The body:

And because I wanted to use other wheels, I searched for others and thought that the Yokohama AVS wheels looks good on it. They look like the newer Ferrari's these days.

I'm not sure about the colour yet, but I think it will not be in red. Maybe some light blue metallic or something looks better.

Kris.

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

It's nice to see an older ferrari, I've been wanting to get a hold of this kit for a while now.

I like your wheel choice. Can you take a comparison pics with the kit wheels?

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Looks good with AVS rims, can you use the original tyres on it, or they are too small in diameter? I ask because the original rear tyre is bigger in diameter and width comparing to the front one and using the bigger tyres at the rear would be more life-like in case of a Ferrari.

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Hey Kris
Nice looking project you got.
Maybe for the color you could use a dark red candy like this http://autoartstingraysstudio.com/images/ferrari.jpg

Rims also looking good, kinda reminds me of enzo wheels.

I already used the tyres from the original wheels. Wide tires in rear en smaller in front

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Not much done last days, but yesterday I removed the moldinglines and today I sprayed some primer on it.

Tomorrow I hope to paint the body in Racing Blue but maybe I choose on other colour. Don't know yet

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Yesterday I painted the body in TS-51 Racing Blue.
After that I applied the decals on the body. I wanted some Ferrari logo's on the sideshields, and in the grille (front and back) so I used some left over decals from a 360 modena.

I also wanted the spokes in bodycolour, but after painting the 3rd wheel the spraycan was empty :-?
I had an other spraycan that looks just like the bodycolour so I painted the wheels again. After that I clearcoated them. I only need to add the logo's on it.

I hope to clearcoat the body this weekend.

Kris.

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

When you said you were painting it blue I thought maybe it was the wrong choice of colour for this car.I was thinking along the lines of red or black as I always think the 512TR looks it's best in these colours. However I was wrong I think, the blue really does look great and suits the car very nicely.I also like what you have done with the wheels, painting them body colour.Really nice shine as well on the paint.Almost looking like you don't need a clearcoat.I look forward to seeing this progress.

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Very nice work there. Interesting doing the body Racing Blue and the spoked rims the same color. Strangely enough it works. Cheers to you for being brave.

Re: Ferrari 512 TR

Today I polished the body

I love the colour and shine combo

I'm also busy with the interior. That will be black/blue with grey silver flocking.
