Dashboard Warning Light - 2006 Grand Caravan

There is a small round dashboard light located in the far right hand corner right about the temp gauge. This light was flashing the other day. There is no indicator as to what it is. Any help?

If you don't get your answer try this forum: http://www.chryslerminivan.net/
They break the forum up by the generation van you have. An 06 is a 4th gen van.

Does your dash have the tech, which will show gas/speed/tech/temp - two small and two large readouts, or the one without the tech, gas/speed/temp -which is 2 small and one large readout?

Not sure what you mean by tech. The manual shows this small red light with the dash that has tech and indicates it's the factory alarm system. However, I don't have that option so still not sure why the light was flashing the other day. Hasn't been on since but does light up when starting the van.

The small round light above the Temp Gauge is the arming indication for the alarm system(if equipped)per my owner's manual. My 06 does not have the alarm system and only momentarily turns that light on at start up. Don't have a clue why it would light otherwise. My other van(00) has the factory alarm and the arming light flashes after I get out and lock the doors. I think it flashes for 15 sec or so, then it is armed.

Re: Dashboard Warning Light - 2006 Grand Caravan

My 2006 dodge caravan shows an airbag warning occasionally. Today I wiggled the wires to the left front sensor under the bumper and the light went out and stayed out for now. Can I safely disconnect these wires and repair the connections ? Maybe I should change the sensor while I am at it. If the car is not running and the key is out can anything bad happen ?

Re: Dashboard Warning Light - 2006 Grand Caravan

wow, a reply 4 years later!

welcome!!!

dont know if should be new thread or not but will try to help.

dont mess with your air bags unless you know what your doing!!!
these have the advanced air bag systems, 2005, 2006, 2007.

just so you know they have recalls on what you are talking about...copy and paste this link or if you can click on it then do so
and read. call your dealer, give them your vin, and they will be able to help, hopefully! if they cant, call another one, or the chrysler 800 number, this recall is also including minivans that have been moved out of the areas as well. hope this helps

this recall is for the 2006, http://auto-recalls.justia.com/chrys...006/10v008000/

please do post back if you need more help and/or you got it taken care of.
thanks

Re: Dashboard Warning Light - 2006 Grand Caravan

Thanks: I found the 'recall' you mentioned and called Chrysler service. When I gave them my VIN they said the recall didn't apply to my car. Evidently I missed the cut by twenty days saying that a new sensor had been used on mine. Sounds kind of fishy to me so I will call my dealer tomorrow and see what he has to say. I think the connections to the sensor are likely just corroded. When I looked at one of those sensors one time they seemed like a poor design for expose-to-the-weather use. I think they were just spade clips. Thanks again and I will let you know how I make out.
