Re: fuel pump replacement procedure?

Just need to look at the threads on the forum. Find a thread titled "Free Online Service Manuals" by tempfixit. Should be on the first or second page.

Re: fuel pump replacement procedure?

I had searched the forum with everything to do with fuel pump in the title and couldnt find what i was looking for.
I went ahead on my own and boy was it easy! All I had to do was lower the tank a little on one side. everything came apart easy and.....DONE...just like that. I bet it was easier than an old mechanical fuel pump on the engine....and those were usually pretty easy.
Im excited! It worked too.
Ive had the periodic loss of power that only happened every thousand miles or so. Finally yesterday it acted up and it didnt fix itself this time. It would run but poorly and I couldnt accelerate at all.
I bought the whole setup at a junk yard for $40. I did break a plastic piece on the sending unit putting it back in so I had to take the fuel pump itself out and put it in my sending unit. I also changed the filter from the bottom over and what looks like a small fuel pressure regulator or something just in case that had something to do with my problem. After building fuel pressure back up it runs great now.

Congrats! Glad to hear the mountain turned into a mole hill. Thanks for posting the fix.

Recommend you check out the "manuals" I mentioned above. They aren't the best in the world but, they beat scratchin your head. Just about any car you may have is listed.
