Q. Bus connectors that stall the bonn.........

I had that problem with the Conn. getting wet but now I got a new problem. The one by the drivers door is getting hot and melting the plastic. Its one wire thats doing it. (the first wire) My question is Can I replace the whole connection? Splice the wires and reattach?

I ask because that one wire has part of the insulation off of it exposing about an inch of wire and also because of the heat coming off of the connector.
