For Dr. Bill...HHO generator
Hey, Doc..I've been following "The Flight of the Phoenix" since day 1, so I am aware of your scientific background, & that's why I'd like to hear your opinion on these HHO generators.(water4gas, etc.). I believe that, in theory, these may produce some combustible gas. My question is, do you think that one could produce enough gas (fuel) to offset the additional load placed on the alternator to produce it?..If it can, wouldn't this be the holy grail? (something for nothing).
If anyone reading this has tried one, how about posting the results...this could get interesting. |

Re: For Dr. Bill...HHO generator
You cannot get something for nothing - that is a Law of Thermodynamics.
Water (H2O) is much more stable than H2 and O2 - that is why you get a Butt load of energy when the two combine chemically - like when the Hindenburg caught fire and burned in 1929. To convert H2O back into H2 and O2, you must put in at least the same amount of energy as you got when the water formed. This is usually done by running direct current electricity thru the acidified H20 and collecting the H2 and O2 in separate vessels. In other words - if you buy that device you are talking about, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.....and I guarantee that the Bridge works! Tell me - if that "device" works, why isn't the 'inventor' richer than Shell Oil Corporation by now...? I have heard of Buses in the Phillipines that have a huge tank attached with pig dump that generates Methane by bacteria that the bus runs on....hmmmm. Now...after I eat a big bowl of Chili with Beans (my favorite food), I personally could power my little Metro 3 cylinder Phoenix! However, it would make my nether regions sore....what with all those tubes and such stuck up in there...... DoctorBill

Re: For Dr. Bill...HHO generator
Isn't HHO another way of expressing H2O?

Re: For Dr. Bill...HHO generator
Well...actually...if you want to express it correctly, you'd write HOH.
Dihydrogen Monoxide. A very electrically polar molecule of a bent configuration. It resists mixing with many non-polar compounds and causes a tremendous amount of corrosive action - especially with Jeep and Chevy Suburban Fenders. ![]() It is a VERY DANGEROUS chemical compound that has killed many, many people over the history of the human race ! http://www.dhmo.org/NCCA.html There are many agencies trying to ban it from human use and possession. The US Government is trying to cover up the dangers of it's use. http://www.dhmo.org/coverup.html Too long an exposure causes a terrible puckering effect on fingers and toes. However, young children can be caught playing in it! They should be severely chastised.... There is a whole organization of highly intelligent people against Dihydrogen Monoxide. http://www.dhmo.org/ Beware large volumes of the stuff ! Especially if inebriated. After drinking large volumes of Beer, the human body makes excruciating attempts to get rid of this obnoxious compound and it can cause terrible distress if one cannot get rid of it - especially at parties and movie theaters where bathroom facilities are closed or full. ![]() The pain is terrible! I warned you! DoctorBill
