Final drive ratio
Anybody know how to ID the final drive ratio on a Metro or Swift by using the VIN? If not, how else could I positivley know what I have. (without opening up the trans & counting teeth) Thanks

Re: Final drive ratio
Don't the ratios change between Manual and automatic trans?

Re: Final drive ratio
Yes, drastically. So much that they're never discussed. Anyone who cares enough to consider swapping the trans would never consider putting another automatic in.

Re: Final drive ratio
95 - 01 four cylinder 3.79, same as an XFI.
