1988 Buick Lasabre

I need to replace the starter on my 1988 Buick Lasabre, I have it up on ramps and can see the starter, but I am not sure the best way to get to it. Any help would be greatly apperciated. G. Hakze

Welcome to AF.

Your post has been moved to the LeSabre forum.

To start and for safety make sure you disconnect both battery positive and negative cables starting with the negative first before disconnecting the starter B+ and solenoid wiring connections. One of those (B+) is hot at all times as long as the battery is connected.

It seems difficult to reach the starter, do you know if there is an easier way to get to it than what I am doing. G. Hakze

We don't know how you're doing it.

Re: 1988 Buick Lasabre

I find it easiest to remove the exhaust manifold- six bolts at the head- and three at the crossover connection- then there is plenty of room to pull it out--been there- done that-- jacking the engine up off the motor mounts never gave me enough room.....
