Knocking noise in rear and sometimes front

I would have put this in my other thread but I wanted to keep it less cluttered. I hear a knocking noise coming from my rear when I go over bumps, but it seems to only be if I go over a bunch of smaller bumps, like if I drive over washboard on a dirt road or something. If I just hit one big bump I dont hear a noise at all.

As for the noise in the front, it seems to come front the front left only when I have the wheel turned hard and am going over little bumps like the rear one. I have only heard this once or twice, probably because I have only turned hard over bumps once or twice recently lol. I also am aware that my left ball joint needs to be replaced, but am not sure if this would have anything to do with it. I appreciate any ideas as to what these problems could be.

Re: Knocking noise in rear and sometimes front

Ball joints will make that noise. You ordinarily won,t hear them until you hit a bump. Then the loose ball goes from the bottom of the joint cup to the top and back. You are hearing this slamming back and forth in the joint. One day it will just pull completely out of the cup and leave you stranded on a rail road track somewhere.

The rear is probably do to bad shocks/struts. Check the fronts while you are at it.
