Change oil soon, and p1404
Well had the change oil soon light come on, was waiting for it, After I changed the oil I tried to turn off the oil manage lite by turning on key, pumped the gas pedal 3(x) like in the owners manual instructions. and the change oil soon light never blinks or flashes to show that its resetting. did it a couple times then said forget it because i don't want to flood the engine. So that light comes for the first min of driving then goes away. So i figured i could maybe scan for it with my ob2 scanner n erase it, well short story *no*, and i got a p1404 erg value in closed pintle postion (orange emission). I have my old 3.8 engine still with all parts on it so ill just swap the erg out from my other engine, should fix the probelm, if not pcm right?
Grand prix 1999 Gt, had a 99 engine, swapped for a 2001 engine when my timing chain went. Had to block off a newer intake line that my 99 engine didn't have before. That hasen't affected the engine in anyway. Any help would be great. Thankyou. |

Re: Change oil soon, and p1404
I have a '99 GP GT, 3.8L engine. I'm also not able to reset the "Change Oil Soon" light, and mine too goes off after a minute or so of driving.

Re: Change oil soon, and p1404
You won't flood the engine being its fuel injected. The EGR printle can be cleaned up and replaced and the code should clear.
