Re: tranny probs

I don't quite understand your explanation of the problem here, please be a little more specific with less text message analogies.

You're sure everything engine wise in order? Oftern times, wheat feels like a trany problem is more of a engine performance issue.

Re: tranny probs

That's not detailed enough info to get a diagnosis of any sort. Please explain

Re: tranny probs

Any rattling from under the vehicle in the exhaust system? BAses on thsi decription, and your overheating issue, could be looking at a colapsing catalytic converter.

Re: tranny probs

Sounds like the previous owner neglected a lot of things.....
When you put the new transmission in, did you flush out the trans cooler and lines? Whats the fluid look/smell like in it now?
When you say sometimes it hauls and sometimes its slow, does engine temp make a difference? Like the longer you drive the worse it gets or what?

Re: tranny probs

Re: tranny probs

I'm not sure about v6's...what injection does it have, multi-port or throttle body injection?

Re: tranny probs

sounds like it might be going into limp home mode.... have you run the car for codes..... oh wait you said you fixed the check engine light... did it just go out? what was causing it?

also you can have error codes without a check engine light. so id scan for them just in case.

Re: tranny probs

it has multi port injection. i jumped the codes and it gave me a lean/rich air/fuel mixture. so i changed the o2 senser. light went off.
