Cooper Discovery ATR

I have Cooper Discover ATR tires on my 2003 gmc sierra truck. I never haul anything heavy or even carry anything heavy in the bed. I have read one place that says to put 35lbs of pressure in the tires, another that is 50lbs and another that is 65lbs for these tires. On the side wall it just says max carry weight with 50lbs. Does anyone know what the pressure should be in these tires?

First step is to locate the placard on your vehicle. It will tell you what the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size is.

Vehicle placards are usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box.

Be sure to pay attention to the letters immediately in front of or behind the tire size - they are important.

The next step is to look at the tires on your vehicle - also paying attention to the letters in front of or behind the tire size.

If the tires are the same size - including the letters - then the pressure listed on the vehicle placard is the right pressure.

But if the tire size is different - and different would include different letters - then post all three tidbits of information - the original tire size and pressure and the current tire size - and I'll walk you through what it means.
