When changing a timing belt?
I have a 2002 Accord with 96K miles on it. I am going to change the timing belt, balance shaft belt, both adjusters, water pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve cover gaskets. What seals/gaskets need to be changed on the timing cover? And if there are things I am planning on changing that I don't need to change, let me know that too. Thanks.

Re: When changing a timing belt?
The cover has a dust seal, not really a gasket...
You will want to change the balance shaft seals...they are known to pop out or fail sometimes, and cause catastrophic oil leakage behind the cover....

Re: When changing a timing belt?
So is it good to change out the dust seals then or they are good to use again?
And I was going to get all honda parts, online, since most seem to say replace with Honda parts. |

Re: When changing a timing belt?
I am having a hard time finding the balance shaft seals on the parts diagram. I found the balance shafts, front and rear, but it doesn't show seals?

Re: When changing a timing belt?
Actually, I forgot what year you were talking about...earlier ones would pop the seals, then they began putting a retainer on them to keep that from happening...you should be ok...
Didn't mean to scare you....
