Stripped out spark plug hole

Our 97 neon 2.0 sohc popped out a spark plug today, when I re-installed it I found that it was stripped. What is the most efficient fix? We are going to be getting rid of it soon, and I do not want to spend alot on it. All help would be appreciated.

You might look at : Timesert.com or Fullsert.com I have never used these products, but they look like they will get the job done. Good Luck!

You can but a re-thread tool pretty cheap and just re-thread it.

you would have to remove the head in order to use the heli-coil kit. otherwise you will have shavings from the cutting tool fall on top of your iston and when you start it it will score you cylinder walls and cause more damage.

That is what I done to mine and it has worked fine for a bout a year. Maybe a back tap?
