Yeah..about the kia pump...that was an opinion largely circulated a few years ago as it seems pumps for the SOHC and DOHC had been used one for the other. THis is not a problem as pumps are correctly matched in kits and several ordered the kits and installed them with total satisfaction; I am myself about to order such kit as my SPorty just past 60,000 miles...so I'm getting prepared.
Pump pulley for DOHC has 25 cogs, and those for SOHC have 20

Full kits are available on E-bay for under $100.

Re: Water Pump Question???

Thanks for all the info LMP.. As for the price of the timing belt it has gone up like everything else.. It's now $164.95 but it comes with water pump and your belts and gaskets. Oh and 4 spark plugs... Sounds like a deal at that price too bad that's not the installed price..haha

OK some kits like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Timin...spagenameZWD1V
contain more items, like all belts and valve gasket....that makes up for the extra $
also this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TIMIN...spagenameZWD1V
probably the one you are talking about...has the valve gasket.

Re: Water Pump Question???

Thanks LMP that is the one I am getting. I noticed that it does have the valve cover gasket with it.. Still seems like a good deal with all you get..
