Will a 96 Taurus engine fit in a 00' Taurus

Will a 96 3.0 engine (taurus) fit in a 00' (3.0) Taurus. i just want to make sure I can use the 96' in the 00'. I didnt know if it would match up with the transmission. thanks

I had the same question as Willyum until I realized that the 1996 Taurus (not the 1995 I was thinking about) is basically the same vehicle as the 2000 Taurus (some minor body part changes aside).

Yes...they should mate up without too many problems. The same 3.0L engines (OHV and DOHC) were offered in both years.
