Homeade drying box

I've got the most awesome wife. I always knew she was a an artist. She is writing a mystery novel.

But I had no idea how inventive she really was.

she made this homeade drying box. I use a dehydrator like most that build but I wasn't too effcient, running from the spray booth to my building table. Not to mention that I didn't have enough alligator clips to hold parts. What I did have was old chopsticks that I glued alligator clips to for spraying parts.

She went to the thrift store and bought this stereo stand for 30 bucks, took the shelves out. Had the guys at Menards cut the peg board to size to fit the inside of the box. Put some wood on the back on the top and bottom so the dowl rods that she wittled down would fit without hitting the back of the stereo cabinet.

She took the back off the cabinet, replaced it with peg board to let the box 'breathe' then cut a leftover peice of peg board with added wood as my side table next to my build table to get the peices ready to spray.

she took dowl rod and alligator clips and cut them all the same length, used gorrilla glue to hold them in place, added some battery operated led lights to the cabinet and here it is!

I should have thought of this!
Maybe we should vote Hillary in! LOL

right on Toni! thanks for the great gift~ very indeed

I had to share it with you guys

These are all the non-chromed pieces that need to be sprayed for one whole kit

Right on, Man! Like MPWR said, it's great to have a wife that shares, or at least understands, your passion.

That looks like one sweet set up. Better than Mr. Drying Booth

Good times.

Jim

Re: Homeade drying box

My wife tolerates my hobby, hows that? hahahahah

She doesnt say much of anything when I buy kits or anything like that, since I dont really say anything when she buys the stuff she wants for what ever hobby she's working on, haha.

Re: Homeade drying box

You know, my wife really didn't get into until she realized how important it was to me.

I encourage her hobbies and she might have felt a little guilty~ Hey, at least she recognized it! LOL
