It turns out I was misinformed it in fact is not an '89 SC it is a '87 TC (turbocoupe) so if anyone has an evaluation on this car lemme know, from what I've heard its a...2.3 liter?...turbo charged 4-banger i thought T-birds were heavy cars so how can this be fast like people have been saying. What do you guys think.

Re: Misinformed
if i remember correctly the foxbody (83-88) tbirds werent all that heavy in comparison to the MN12 models (89-97). the turbo coupe only put out 190hp i think but it was enough to make a nice little squeal between 1st & 2nd gear
. i personally never owned a TC but i have driven a few of them and they haul ass for a 4 banger. heres a question does it have the stock turbo on on it? if it does and you buy the car you might wanna replace that. the turbos that came with that car had problems with the turbine fan shredding its self after a long hard day of fun. u might want to up grade that and your intake system to handle the slightly bigger turbo. but if its in good condition and its just gonna be a daily driver then id say go for it.

Re: Misinformed
Also is it an auto Bird or a stick? The autos were de-tuned somewhat, for a wider torque band but quite a bit less peak hp.

Re: Misinformed
Thanks for your help, i still have to test drive it, the current owner is touchy about driving the car in the winter, especially when there is damn near a foot of snow. But I have heard mostly good things from everyone about this car.
P.S. It is a 5 speed, the only way to go wouldn't you agree?

Re: Misinformed
I hear ya about the long trips, plus driving a stick competatively really tests the driver as opposed to the car itself, and don't get me started on F1 flipper shifters
, in my opinion, they are for pathtic drivers who can handle a real car.
