Changing Timing Chain & Gears

I have a 94 s-10 blazer vortec 4.3. Was wanting to know if anyone would have any tips or tricks that could help me? I have a haynes manual but there steps are for ideal situations.

The Haynes info has served me well on my Dodge, you could degrease the engine before starting the job and have plenty of light and time.
