Re: Mpg
a 5.9 [360] was made to pull loads [if it only had a trans that would stand up to it]not fuel efficiency . you might put all that stuff on and only up your mpg to 12 mpg.a 5.9 has a big bore and there's not a whole lot you can do to up the mpg. the 318 is alot better on gas because it will pull a load but not near as good as the 360.

Re: Mpg
not off hand.might do a search on here as i'm sure it on here somewhere. you might change the gear ratio in the front and rear and get 12 to 14 city.9 mpg city is about right. higher gear ratio would give you more highway mpg not sure about city.

Re: Mpg
not off hand . don't see it getting 12 to 14 city. you might put all of what you are talking about and get 12 to 14 highway mpg. most of the 5.9 s around here only get 11 highway mpg no load. 8 to 9 pulling load.

Re: Mpg
The best way to improve gas mileage on a dodge truck is to get a commuter car. And when you don’t have to haul something then take the car. You can cut your gas bill by 2/3rds. your truck gets 9-10 mpg if you get a lets say a vw or Honda that gets 30+mpg then think of the savings. I only say this because that’s what I just did. Though I am still adding all the stuff you are suggesting but for power not fuel efficiency.

Re: Mpg
I took my 98,1500, 5.2 with 98K from 11 mpg to 14 mpg last summer by first burning a couple tanks of mid-range fuel with most expensive commercially available FI cleaner I could find before going back to regular. I think the biggest difference was adding tire pressure from 35 to 45 psi. Tires are rated for 50 psi but didn't want to go there. The door sticker pressure is for vehicle dynamic stability. Must drive more carefully and slower, but thats works for you too. Internals of cat collapsed in late fall and O2 sensors acted up after that repair. I don't think it was related. 100K and the truck is still a learning experience. Speaking of fuel, most blends of ethanol will produce slightly lower mileage than straight gasoline.
