No Dash Lights, No Indicators working, No starting

If I turn the ignition on, nothing on the dash works, no lights, no indicators.
When I start, the engine runs and quit after 1 second. (security issue?)
Anybody know what the problem is?
Thanks

Sounds like a dead battery.
Check your battery and the connections.
Make sure they are clean and tight, check the voltage too, should be between 12.4-13.8 volts.

If your security was the issue the security light would be on or flashing.

Battery is ok.
Everything works, lights, blower, interieur lights ...
Except the lights on the dashboard, fuel indicator and temp indicator also not working. And the engine starts, but quits running after 1 , 2 seconds.

It must be the Ignition Switch.
I put my key a few times in and out, and everything is working again.
Time to change the ignition switch?

Re: No Dash Lights, No Indicators working, No starting

I just got this EXACT SAME PROBLEM two days ago! Reviving this topic instead of starting a new one. Going to get battery checked in next few days (busy at work, and my best friend, away on a 2 week work-related trip, let me borrow his car, so it's not the immediate emergency situation it could have been); meanwhile I wonder if the original poster found the correct solution? I also read something on this forum about taking other keys off the keychain (?) as it somehow affects the ignition switch (either the weight of the keys or the extra metal conducting electricity).

The weight of the keys can cause premature wear in the ignition switch, causing the Passlock security system to fail, preventing the car from starting. You would have a flashing security light if that were the case.

I would do as suggested, check battery connections, grounds. After that, it's probably the ignition switch.
