AC Delco parts Vs dealership parts

This may be stupid question but are AC delco parts from a part shop the same as the AC Delco parts from the dealer? I'm looking at getting plug wires and the ac delco parts shop qoted 166.00 and the dealer quoted 206.00 as well as similar price differences for coil, cap, rotor, plug...if I buy them at the part store I'II save over 140.00 then at the dealer.....(keep in mind these prices are Cdn) this is for a 99 saffari

Re: AC Delco parts Vs dealership parts

AC Delco parts are the same no matter where you buy them. An independant testing lab tested several different brands of wires: the results showed Autolite Professional Series wires to have the best specs, better than AC Delco, and better than the best selling "high performance" wires. They're available at most auto parts stores and less expensive, by a long shot. Make sure you use silicone dielectric grease on all of the terminals when you install them. Cap and rotor, go with AC Delco, and again, use the silicone dielectric on all terminals, both inside and outside the cap.

Re: AC Delco parts Vs dealership parts

Use this link to see if where the stores are in your area that sell the A C Delco items you need.http://www.acdelco.com/index.jsp . My area is serviced by a A C Delco warehouse that services many GM dealers along with independent garages, and just a couple of years ago opened a retail store next to the warehouse. You can buy the same items there as they sell to the stealerhip but you will pay less than you would if you bought it at the stealership.
