1g Radios help

Hi again everyone. I have a quick question. All my other DSMs were base model or GS and had the normal radio/cassate rig.

However my new 91 TSi AWD I have been working on over the winter has the deluxe CD player model. The cd player works but skips and cant read burnt CDs at all. I am wanting to tear it out and put aftermarket in as I did in all my other DSM's.

However at first glance the radio in my car now as a stock amp of some kind under the CD player part and above the ECU. My question is, can this stock amp be used with a aftermarket deck or how does that all work.

I wont be starting work on the interior stuff like this for about another 2 weeks but I figured asking for some knowledge now would give me extra time to plan.
