Bose Head Unit!!!

Ok, so today was my third time going to the dealer to get the stereo looked at for cutting in and out, a problem that I know others have experiences. (2k2+) And magically, every time that I make it to the dealer, it just "happens" that the stereo starts working fine again. This is BS. They tell me they won't replace the head unit until they have documentation, but the moment i drove away it acted up again. i am so fed up with this shit i don't even want to go in again, cause i know the same thing will happen. any advice???!!! please help!!

get an after market head unit. spend about $250-300 or more if you want, and you'll never regret it. the sound quality is twice what it was. you may not even have to spend 250 if you can get a good deal but most good units are in that price range.

no thanks, i like the 6 disc changer, makes things lots easier. plus, it's simply the principle of the matter...i shouldn't have to repeatedly bring in my car to have it looked at for a problem they won't document on an expensive automobile. i paid extra for the stereo system, and they're being bitches about it

I had the exact same problem. My dealer ordered a new unit and as soon as it comes in they will just swap them out. Same year, same 6 changer unit too. Looks to me like this is a common problem.

How old are you? I only ask because dealers will try to brush you off the younger you are. Us old farts don't take any shiet.:smoka:

well, i'm only 20, and i definitely came to the same conclusion, that the younger you are, the more willing they are to brush you aside. which especially pisses me off, since i pay for the same service that everyone else does. in any case, i got some documentation from the .org, and i'm going to bring it in and make the tech guy come out to the car when the problem is happening, and show him what's wrong. btw MAXIMUS, it's what i paid for and i'm not gonna spend extra money to have a trunk mounted unit...no thanks.

screw the changer and by an mp3 head unit, you can fit up to 235 songs on one normal CD-R. prices are getting lower to.

Completely understandable!!!! I myself wanted to change my BOSE System because I one day had a prevision on a system and went for it and that "Biotch knocks like crazy". I myself am satisfied with my custom setup. My Fosgate amps make the system hit real hard and crisp, not that ghetto bass.....

yeah, i have dealt with the whole aftermarket setup, in my G20 i had boston acoustic speakers and 2 rf HE2's running off an explose amp, pretty damn loud if you ask me. no, i don't want to replace the head unit, the g20 was broken into and the faceplate was jacked, out of the locked glove compartment!!! so if anything, i will only do speakers...

Man, go back in and raise some shiet!! They definately dissed you because you are a kid. The guys at my dealership had no problem just swapping out the unit. F the aftermarket option, you paid for something and that something needs to work and work right.

it seems like there`s a problem with bose`s head unit. lots of people in forum seem to saying the same thing. warranty should cover that. no excuses.

yeah, the problem is documented, and is apparently known about by nissan, bose, and clarion (the manufacturer of the head unit)...and i have been very stern with them, i spent about a half hour arguing with them last time, they just don't respect me since i'm young, it sucks. but next time, i am going to bring the tech guy out, show him the actual problem, explain to him what it means when the speaker cuts out, and then they can't do anything except replace it. and after that, the bbb gets a letter from me
