PI dash User setting for GAS?

Anyone know what this is set up for? It is usually showing less than 1, but I can't figure out what Panoz set it up for. O2 sensors???

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

I don't think I have a gas setting? My father and I found that our stock 5.0 really sucks fuel. We were having to top it off after every 4 run sessions.

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

REally!? I ran 8 sessions over two days and went home with at least 10 gallons left (of 32). TWS is a 2.9 mile track with a half mile front straight. Hummm?

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

My father and I were using it back to back so we ran 16 sessions a day... we were topping it off after every 2 sessions... it would hold about 10 gallons of fuel each time so about 5 gallons per 25 min session. VIR full is a 3.2 mile track w/ two huge straights... the car can be WOT around most of the track.

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

25 min generally... my father and I both drove the car in different run groups. So each person got 4 per day

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

Similar to dave, 25 min session about 5 gallons of gas, Morose has one long straight and one short straight both wot for a period of time. The 5.0 is pretty thirsty, but I did find that flooring the gas does cause a littel bog, feathering works better. The PI dash systems is good and bad, can't read it while driving, but it stores the data.

Re: PI dash User setting for GAS?

I ran mine low... not paying attention thinking it'd get the fuel mileage of my Z06 I started getting bogging when comming hard out of turn 1 and through Hogs Pen... the PI dash would bring up fuel pressure when it got below 20 psi and the red alarm light would come on.

Being that the dash is so low, at first I thought it was an oil pressure light and I was pissed and was thinking WTF this thing has a road race pan and the motor sounds fine, then I realized it was fuel pressure.

Came in as I didn't want to run out of gas on track and found the fuel cell almost empty. My Z06 would do this if I forgot to top off for the last session of a day and let it get below 1/8th tank. Having the power cut out comming through Hogs pen at full bore in a 500 horse car is bad!
