97 air bag light

for the past month the air bag light does not go off after i start the vehicle. could this be a fuse or is there a senserthat i can replace

I have an 08 that also had the air bag light staying on. The dealer replaced the air bag assy & it still stayed on. They finally found a shorted wire in the harness.

Surely some kind of airbag malfunction. I don't think it's something you want to mess with yourself if you don't know what you're doing. You could set off the airbag(s) and cause more damage.

My 2001 was on for a while and would have cost a lot to fix according to the dealer. A few months later my alternator was replaced and low and behold it has not been on since.
