"wtf"

98 GAGT 2.4 automatic Car was running great then today was pulling into a parking spot at the store and the rpm's shot up to 3,000 and it took all of my weight on the brake to hold the car still. had to put it in neutral turn engine off to stop. no engine lights. what do I do now?

Re: "wtf"

Check the throttle body valve and cable for binding, could also be the IAC

Re: "wtf"

I do appreciate all of the advice I receive here. I am also egually grateful that so many take the time to show interests in my automotive problems. However the idle problems were caused by a collapsed emissions hose that ran to the oil seperator from the intake. The hose was resting on a tab on the back of the throttle body, when the hose heated up this tab pushed in on the hose causing it to collapse.
