Looked but cant find
I have a 1997 LeSaber Custom and I am trying to replace the door speakers. I am having trouble finding where the door panel is bolted on at. I have looked and searched for door panel removal but have seemed to come up with noting. Can someone point me to where the bolts are located on my year modle? thanks.........Also are there any speakers that I am overlooking? I know that there are the 6x9's in the back, which I replaced today and I know that there are the 5 1/4's in the doors. Are there any tweeters or dash speakers that I am missing?

Re: Looked but cant find
According to my book, the '97 only had speakers from the factory in the doors and rear deck. It also list a 4 speaker or a 6 speaker option. I would guess the extra 2 speakers might be in the door,( the book doesn't say.)

Re: Looked but cant find
There are also tweeters in the doors. Look at the front of your armrest, and you'll see a small speaker cover attached to the panel (the 5 1/4s and tweeters are attached to the same housing). If you had the 4 speaker system, you would have the 2 6x9s in the back, and 2 dash speakers in the front. You could always add the dash speakers to add to your system if you want to.
Back to you question, To remove the door panel, you will need a few tools, first. You'll obviously need a wrench and socket (I'm sorry I do not recall the size you'll need) You'll also need a star shaped Torx driver or socket (the smallest size) and lastly you'll need a GM door panel removal tool (it's used to pry door panel clips out without breaking them or the door panels) the bolts are located in the following areas: *Underneath the black power window switch cover, (it can be removed with a small flat head screw driver) *the woodgrain trim where the door lock is located (torx driver needed here) *Behind the red warning light/ reflector located at the end of the panel (bolt hidden inside) After the bolts are all removed, use the GM door panel removal tool to remove the fasteners from the door sheetmetal, and the panel will come right off. There will be wiring still attached, so disconnect all of it to make access to the speakers even easier. Good luck!

in the dash. (This is what my car had at one time. Perhaps by the '97-'99 model year the dash was no longer used to hold speakers? Are there openings on both sides of the dash for the speakers?

Re: Looked but cant find
When you say that I can add to my speaker system by adding the speakers to the dash, does this mean that there should already be the mounting holes there to put the speakers? So I can go buy speakers and add them to my sound system? Are the tweeters the same type of tweeters that come in component systems speakers?
