According to an independant lab that tested several brands, they say the Autolite Professional Series wires have the best specs, better than AC Delco and the leading "high performance" brand. They're cheaper too!

Re: Bosch wires suck big time!

Just thought I would give everyone a bit of info on the quality of the Bosch wires and what the company thinks about their products.

I found a little piece of paper in the package that said the Bosch wires come with a lifetime warranty. So I went to see the store where I bought them from and I was told that it was an electrical part and there was no return on electrical parts. So I contacted Bosch and left a message, and another message, and another message, well you get the drift. And they never returned my call, which is local for them or my emails.

What does that tell you about customer service at Bosch?????

Re: Bosch wires suck big time!

I put in Bosch plug wires in my 2002 Astro at 100,000 miles. I immediately began getting sporadic misfires. The service engine soon light would for about a minute. After another 50,000 miles, the misfires became pretty regular, like every day. I took it in to my local dealer. He went right to the distributor. The Bosch plug wires were all rusty. I had liberally used dialectic grease when installing them. I told him to replace them with AC Delco again. The distributor needed replacing too. The rotor was loose and hitting the distrubutor cap because the bushing at the top had worn out. I don't think I would have caught that on my own. There are advantages to going to the GM dealer.

Re: Bosch wires suck big time!

Did you use the 7mm Bosch wires? I put some of these on my 2000 Astro and have had no problems so far, the 7mm wires look just like the original equipment and are pretty beefed up wires, I see no difference in them and the original GM wires. I usually don't use anything but the original GM equipment for electronic parts, for the same reason as you've experience, because sometimes aftermarket knockoff parts are junk, but so far I've had no issues. GM gives no discounts and charges an arm and a leg for their parts, but I use Autozone when I can for water pumps, brakes, and mechanical parts.
