Rack and Pinion replacement

I replaced my Rack and pinion and power steering pump in my 98 windstar 3.8. When I test drove it afterwards it seemed like it wanted to steer itself, especially if I hit snow, bumps or turned into a driveway. The pump does whine a little bit but there is a bright green sticker on the pump that says some noise is normal. I used Mobil One synthetic MerconV ATF for the power steering fluid. I was thinking that maybe I did not bleed the system enough or did not do it properly. I kept the cap off and turned from lock to lock for like 10 minutes, I did not see many air bubbles afterwards. Is there a better way to bleed the system? Another thing I was thinking is that the alignment is way off. The toe does not look ridiculously out of whack. I can notice it definately needs to be adjusted though.

What else can cause the sympyoms I am having?????????????? Thanks for any help.

Re: Rack and Pinion replacement

I'd strongly suggest taking it to a reputable alignment shop and get the alignment done first. It needs to be done for sure and they may be able to shed some light on it once the alignment is done if things are a bit sloppy.
