problems with mirrors leaching battery power?
anybody had problems with aftermarket rearview side mirrors leaching power from the battery causing battery drain?
1997 GMC Jimmy: ... automatic carwash took out my driver's side rearview mirror ... replaced with Advance Auto brand ... it was an easy intall ... I just removed inner door panel, bolted it in and connected one electrical connector. It is a power rearview mirror - but not heated or lighted ... I had trouble starting two times. Both times I got clicks from the starter. I charged the battery and it started up fine. However, if I left any accessories on after turning the vehicle off, within 3 minutes, the battery would be drained enough for it to not start -- then, click-click-click I'm gonna try charging the battery for 5-6 hours tonite. It has an auto shutoff so I'm not worried about overcharging. The battery is only about 3 yrs old from Autozone -- it ought to last longer than that right ??? CCA is 650 I think ... |

Re: problems with mirrors leaching battery power?
If Autozone batteries are Excide, then 3 years is a loooong time. They are junk, but cheap enough to get folks through.
