neutral safety switch
I have a 92 f-150. Should the truck engine start up if it is in neutral? Is it still necessary to push in the clutch and activate the "neutral safety switch" to start the truck while it is in neutral?

Re: neutral safety switch
Regardless of what gear it is in or if in neutral, you need to push in the clutch to trip the safety switch. This can be bypassed but you would ALWAYS have to be sure you had it in neutral.
