Rail Replacement..What Is It

Okay,

I am having problems with my 97' and have seen posts here about a conduit with the rail replacement (recall). Can someone explain what this is and what happens if you don't have the replacement done. Maybe the symptoms my car is experiencing are due to this.

0 PSI
Oil Leak
Radaitor Leak
Low Coolant
Coolant looks like soapy foam

Thanks

Re: Rail Replacement..What Is It

More specifically the original rail was some sort of nylon composite that over time would eventually crack and cause fuel leaks. The fuel leaks did not affect drive ability except for the leaking fuel in the engine bay which could lead to fire. Your issues would be a result of this issue. However, if you still have the nylon lines it is recommended that you get them replaced. The dealer should do it for free.
