Re: turbo seal/gasket

Yes, oil can leak into your intercooler pipes or into your exhaust.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

What seals are you referring to? If the seals inside the turbo are leaking then yes your car will smoke. If the gaskets are leaking then no it shouldn't be smoking.

The way you worded your original post sounded like you were talking about the seals inside the turbo. But now Im starting to think you are talking about the gaskets.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

You will have to have the turbo rebuild to fix those. Or you could rebuild it yourself and send it off to get balanced.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

Im sure you would just have to buy a new turbo at the dealer. I doubt they repair them. If they do it would be an ASS of money.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

how about just upgrading to 16g,would i have to get a certain mani. for it?

instead of getting 14b repaired and costing ALOT of money,i could go ahead and upgrade and not worry about anything.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

The 16g will be a direct replacment. You shouldn't have to change anything.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

If it is only $40 bucks then its probably not a good idea. That "little" bit of shaft play is probably alot, lol.

Re: turbo seal/gasket

yeah, the turbo specialist i took it too said he would charge me $340 to rebuild it and balance it,so i bought a new one for $190,he said there was a little surface rust inside.
