1991 dakota tranny slipping/reverse only

Just bought it and at that time the reverse didn't work. I took it apart and several things were wrong. front clutch burnt. acumulator spring broke. vavles tight. rear band loose. i rebuilt it all but not the overdrive. it now works great.. except the reverse. it still just slips. all the forward gears work great. down shift good. seems to take a little long going from 1st to second.
any advice
