polish over clear?
Hi Guys,
I have a tendency in painting the hood a combination of black/light gunmetal, over with smoke clear on it. It's pretty shiny and smooth already right now, but i've been trying the scratch x polish lately and it's worked wonders. My question is, can i polish over the smoke clear without smudging the black vs. gun metal colours? Thanks in advance. |

Re: polish over clear?
Polishing over the clear smoke will not smudge the black/gunmetal underneath, but it will thin the smoke more in some places than others- leaving light and dark areas that will be uncorrectable.
If you're happy with the smoke, don't mess with it! You can only damage/destroy it. If you really want to polish it, build up a layer of clear overtop of it, and polish that.
