adding automatic climate control and VIC

I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It's basically a base model nothing fancy in it. It has the manual climate control and under that the model just shows me if I am in 2WD or 4WD. Is there any way I can add the Automatic Climate Control instead of the manual climate control and will it work? Also, will that VIC (vehicle information center) that I see on the Limited models work if I swapped it out with the information center that just tells me if I am in 2WD or 4WD? Thanks.
