Is this a steal?

As some of you know, I'm looking to do a RWD swap on my grand prix with a GM powerplant. Well, I have a line on getting a totalled 2000 SS camaro with a 6-speed for around $1500. No typo, $1500. It was hit in the front and is totalled, pretty much from the radiator support forward is a loss. Also it was nicked on the drivers rear corner, mostly cosmetic damage.

All I need out of this car is the LS1, trans, K-member and maybe some misc stuff like the steering rack. How much money do you guys think I can reasonably make from selling off the other stuff? It's got the 17" SS wheels in perfect condition that I don't need, stock rear axle I don't need, full interior I don't need, T-tops, mirrors, doors, all the glass, and anything else I'm missing. Let me know ASAP guys. I need to justify to my Pops spending the money for the car.

Re: Is this a steal?

if yo have the space and time to break it for parts, i'd reckon if you did it properly you'd get at least $800-1,000 for the parts. maybe more.

Re: Is this a steal?

I think it would be well worth your time. There are a ton of small parts you can sell out of that thing... Ebay it up.

Re: Is this a steal?

Well, it looks like I delayed a few hours too many and the car has been bought from under me. I'm sooo pissed, it was going to be a huge jumpstart on my project. Like, huge huge, moving up the schedule by a year or more.

Edit: Someone is driving from twice as far and paying him twice as much as he said he'd sell it to me for. Does anyone know if a big F-body reseller/parts depot is in Kentucky? I'm really unhappy about this. I should have sent him the money yesterday.
