Driver Side Mirror Heater?

I have a symbol on my drivers side mirror that looks like a defrost symbol. Is this a heated mirror? I have pressed every button on the dash and it seems to make no difference in the amount of ice/snow on it. Is there a fuse I should check? The rear window defroster works fine as do the motors for the power mirror. I have a 2002 1500 ext.cab. Thanks!

Re: Driver Side Mirror Heater?

The heater symbol usually means that you have a heated mirror. Check the other side and see it that has the same symbol. It will come on when you hit the rear window defogger.

The way to check is to remove the little triangle on the inside of the door. The wiring haress is there. Disconnect and look for voltage when you turn on your rear window defogger. Maybe someone has a wiring diagram so they can tell yo the wires which provide the heated mirror.

Check the ususal culprits - fuses, etc. I did have to replace one of mine - I think it was about $75 at the stealership.

Re: Driver Side Mirror Heater?

Your truck may not have come with heated mirrors- and someone replaced it with one-that is heated -all it is is extra wires in the connector-- btw they are on Ebay for $40- the key is if both mirrors have the heated mirror symbol-- or you can always check your options code listing on the glovebox or invoice
