Adding MP3 to a 2005 Camry
My wife has an 05 Camry. It has a plain stereo with single CD. I'd like to add MP3 ability. Even if it's just an aux. jack so she can plug in an MP3 player. What's the best way? I DO NOT want one of the cigarette lighter plug-in transmitter things. I want some direct-in aux. jack. What is out there without replacing the stereo?

Re: Adding MP3 to a 2005 Camry
I have found an FM modulator that plugs directly into the antenna rather than the poor-quality wireless transmitters. Pyle and Audiovox are two brands...there are other "universal" types. It still requires an unused radio frequency, though, so crisp, clean sound will depend on if you have a segment of the FM band that isn't used for broadcasting.
The units take power from the radio circuit and connect to the antenna jack using a T-connector. The Line-In inputs are left and right RCA jacks, which you can plug in a RCA-to-headphone jack cord, long enough to run it up to whichever little cubby, nook, center armrest, or glovebox you want your iPod to rest. You can just tuck the cable away if you're not using it. Here's an example on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=1SFIUCVG8HUGM I wish I could tell you how well it works, but I ran into the radio broadcast interference problem mentioned above, so didn't try to install. Check the specs or install manuals to find out the frequencies it will support...the one I bought didn't publish that info and couldn't see the numbers in the online photos. Good luck!
