Aftermarket parts

Anybody think it would be good idea to make a sticky post. Inside would be links to all websites with aftermarket scale model stuff. I know a few but I am sure they are many more I don't know about. I just learned about scalemodelsbychris today. I am looking for photoetched windows cranks, but when I ask where hobby shop employees where to buy them, they just tell me to look on the intenet, but never know exactly where to look. What you guy think? I would just go ahead and do it, but I don't know how to make a sticky.

Re: Aftermarket parts

Hmm...An AF Yellow Pages....interesting thought.

Actually, I think an exhaustive, up to date global listing of hobby stores and suppliers would be a useful resource to put on a forum. I don't recall seeing one here on AF (or anywhere else).

To do it well would require the help of moderators though because I don't think it should just be an ad hoc sticky thread (pretty messy and confused). IMO it would be much tidier and easier to use if it were structured (e.g. grouped by country and specialisation).

The first collection of data could be done in a single thread where everyone posts the stores they know of and then someone would then need to sort and index the submissions into a structured sort of AF Yellow Pages.

Later on, additional entries would be edited into the main listing by a moderator.

Re: Aftermarket parts

Theres three PE sets with window cranks. The top two are from detail master and the last one is form Model car garage. All three are in stock at http://www.scaledreams.com If your looking for just window cranks the MCG one would be best but if you want other interior details I would go with the Detail master ones. Hope that helps ya a bit..
