My two year old flushed my remote key fob down the toilet (lovely!). I decided to save some money and purchase a new remote from Ebay instead of paying hundreds of dollars through my dealer. All was going well until I tried to program it. I have tried the instructions at least 1000 times and I think I am about to loose it!!!
![]() I get in the car and lock the doors using the drivers control panel. I then insert the key in and out of the ignition 6 times within 10 seconds - being careful not to go too fast and ensuring the key is completely removed from the ignition each time. For some reason my car unlocks itself with the 6th insertion. I have tried to hold the button down to stop it however it won't work. My hazard lights don't flash so my car is not entering the programming mode. Can anyone offer any advice?? I drive a 2005 Nissan Maxima. |

Re: I am having trouble programming my new remote!!
Take it to the dealership. They should only charge around $30 to reprogram the remote.
