Rear main seal leak

Has anyone had to replace their rear main seal on their "winnie"?. I have a 1996 with 224,000 miles on the original 3.8 engine. Within the past couple of weeks we've been noticing oil drops everywhere we park and having to fill it with oil. Upon inspection underneath the van, I noticed a very evident dripping going on while the van is running. It is coming from the area where the engine meets up with the transmission. It is not coming from around the oil pan because I can clearly see around the lip of the pan. This drip comes from up higher and this is why I'm thinking its a rear main seal failure. We've tried the Barr's rear main seal sealant but our problem must be too severe as it must not be able to stay in the oil system long enough to start sealing it. Any thoughts or suggestions on this expensive/time consuming problem of mine?
