Re: Buying a new for $5000 or less
I dont know what your trying to get across by saying your having a tough time, but I assume you mean trying to find value for your bucks ?
In your price range it's all about CONDITION, Make - model - year - miles becomes secondary, for starters read this link http://www.usedcartips.org/TESTDRI.html it will help you to know what to look for, you wont become an expert overnight, but you will pick up a few pointers. If I did not provide you with the right answer be more specific with your question.

Re: Buying a new for $5000 or less
Is your budget limited to $5,000 or less if you finance or pay cash? That will make a huge difference. It's very possible you can get the same payment for a higher priced vehicle that a $5,000 payment will give you because the term will be more flexible and your rate will in return be lower given the fact that the vehicle will be more money usually means it's newer and has fewer miles. Most $5,000 cars are older and have a lot of miles on them which makes it hard to get a loan for.
